Global realignment of the HR function – International technology group
How do you efficiently manage an HR organization that spans more than 20 countries and multiple continents? Together with an international technology company, we have laid the foundation for this comprehensive transformation – data-driven, fact-based, and with a strong focus on sustainable, adaptable structures.
The goal
Develop a globally consistent and regionally flexible HR organization that increases efficiency, standardizes processes, and enables close integration with business units.
The approach
- We conducted a detailed maturity, cost, and organizational analysis, complemented by interviews with HR leaders and executive management across the globe.
- Together, we developed a new global HR model that both respects regional differences and establishes best practices for a sustainable people strategy.
- HR processes were initially harmonized and standardized to increase efficiency and optimize strategic alignment.
- New role profiles were created to meet evolving requirements and to enhance collaboration between HR and the business units.
- We carried out pilot projects in several countries to test the new structure, identify best practices, and ensure a people-centered implementation.
- A comprehensive change management program was launched, including workshops and one-on-one sessions, to take into account the interests of all stakeholders and to foster acceptance of the new structures.
- At a global HR conference – designed and facilitated by us – with participants from all relevant countries and numerous business units, a shared commitment to the future direction was achieved. This ensured that the new organizational and operational structures, including a modern collaboration model, would be truly brought to life.
The Outcome
A future-ready, globally aligned HR structure that fosters sustainable collaboration between HR, business units, and all other functions. The newly implemented processes and frameworks create an efficient, agile, and globally integrated HR organization – ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
